Biography

Neonatologist NewYork Presbyterian Hospital. Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, Columbia University

Dr. Elvira Parravicini graduated from the University of Milan, Italy in 1981. and worked for 6 years as attending neonatologist at the Hospital of Monza, associated with the University of Milan.

In 1994 she moved to the United States, where she completed her Pediatric residency at New York University in 1997 and her Neonatal fellowship at Columbia University in 2001. Starting in 2001 she has been working as attending neonatologist at NewYork Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Columbia University.

Dr. Parravicini’s primary interest is prenatal diagnosis and post-natal treatment of infants affected by life-limiting conditions. She was the founder and is currently the medical director of the Neonatal Comfort Care program at Columbia University Medical Center. This is a multidisciplinary team, supporting infants with life-limiting or terminal conditions and their families.
