Dr. Birsner is an assistant professor of maternal-fetal medicine at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology and fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr Birsner was part of a team dealing with a unique case where a baby diagnosed with Bilateral Rengal Agenesis, a invariably terminal condition, was treated by serial amnioinfusion and survived.
Her clinical and research interests include maternal safety, critical care obstetrics, simulation, and fellow education. She is working on her Master of Science degree in Healthcare Quality and Safety.
She lives in New Jersey with her husband and two young children.
